Puerto Rico / Borikén Solidarity Action in Minnesota

St. Paul, MN – On July 22, 2019 a Puerto Rico solidarity rally and march was organized to take place downtown at 3:30 p.m. in the capitol of Minnesota. Protests have been happening world-wide in solidarity with the Boricuan #RickyRenuncia movement, which saw social media set ablaze by Puerto Ricans enraged in the wake of leaked violently misogynistic group chats involving governor Ricardo Rosselló and other government officials.

The leaked chats come in the wake of top administration officials having been charged with money laundering, corruption and fraud. An estimated over 100,000 Puerto Ricans had come out in protest of this local corruption, and to demand the governor’s resignation.
