The first strikes against the University of Minnesota system in over 20 years occurred the week of Sept. 8, 2025. On Sept. 10, a dozen people were arrested at a picket line and a large rally was held on campus in Minneapolis. The demands of the Teamsters Local 320 included a wage increase of at least 3.5%, this was met in a tentative agreement on Sept. 13.
