After a rally opposing the genocide in Gaza during the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, protesters tried to march on the second night of the DNC, but police prevented the crowd from mobilizing. According to the National Lawyers Guild 72 people were arrested. Federal and local police tried to clear the area of press before arresting at least three journalists.
