Gazans Flock To Beaches Amid Record Breaking Heatwave

Thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have flocked to beaches this summer in an effort to escape record breaking temperatures. Gaza’s two million residents are also living under a suffocating blockade and continuous power outages, made worse by the heat wave. The sea shores extending from north to south saw the influx of thousands of residents who went for walks and entertainment on the beach. This comes at the end of a heavy academic year, providing a much needed break to students and families living in a tightly confined 365 square km area.
