Loved One of Deaunteze Bobo Calls for the Wrongfully Convicted in MN to Be Released

Nakisha Armstrong says her son’s father Deaunteze Bobo is wrongfully convicted of a 2006 Minneapolis murder that he was sentenced to life in prison for. Armstrong spoke during a press conference in the Hennepin County Government Center in Minneapolis on Nov. 18, 2024.

“My name is Nakisha, I’m with the Wrongfully Incarcerated Family Council and I stand with all of the families here who have been wrongfully incarcerated and oversentenced. Amy Klobuchar and Mike Freeman need to be investigated. Every case they had need to be brought to forefront. You see multiple people coming out of jail under Amy Klobuchar and Mike Freeman. All those cases need to be investigated. It’s sad that we all got to stand here each and every day and fight for our loved ones to come home when it’s clearly proven that they are innocent. The records are online. You can go in, you can see, you can pull up their cases. There’s no way that Jermaine [Ferguson] should be sitting in jail when the people that were there stated they did not see Jermaine. Why is he there? Why is he still sitting in jail after 20 years? Not only that, Philip Vance, you got Philip Vance family who stands here and they fight for their loved ones where he’s clearly innocent. We are calling on the CRU [Conviction Review Unit], Mary Moriarty to step up and do their job. There’s no way you guys got funded all this money and these people are still sitting in jail. There’s no way that it should be taking three, four years to get these people out of jail. It only took y’all two minutes to barge into a person’s house to go and get them. Free Jermaine. Free Philip Vance. Free Deaunteze Bobo.”
