On Sept. 21, 2024, an Israeli airstrike killed five Gaza Health Ministry workers at a medical storage facility in southern Gaza. Dr. Mohammed Zaquo gave Unicorn Riot an update of the incident. More than 1,150 Palestinians working in the health sector in Gaza have been killed by Israeli forces since Oct. 7, 2023 — one of many atrocities inflicted upon Palestinians over the last year. Two weeks ago, 986 health workers who’ve been killed were named publicly.

During a press conference, Dr. Zaquo called on the World Health Organization, United Nations, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to protect the medical workers from being directly targeted by Israel and allow them “to do their jobs inside the hospitals.” More in link below.
