Palestinian Cosmetician With Cancer Beautifies Displaced Cancer Patients

Samar Al-Jaal, 34, suffers from breast cancer. She continues to undergo surgeries and chemotherapy, but recently the disease has been returning to her body, and she continues to suffer. She was waiting for her name to appear to travel for medical care, but she was rejected and she is no longer able to travel because of Israel’s war on Gaza. Samar lives in a tent with her young children in a camp that houses cancer patients. However, she has a profession that she loves very much, which is cosmetics. She beautifies women with cancer inside the camp, and she says that she suffers like them from hair loss and the lack of eyebrows on her face. She draws eyebrows to show the beauty of their faces, and Samar feels happy when she makes the patients happy.
