Protesters Demand Justice for Kobe Heisler, One Year Later

On August 31, 2019, Brooklyn Center officers Brandon Akers, Steven Holt, Cody Turner, and Joseph Vu murdered 21-year-old Kobe Heisler, who was autistic, in his home. Two weeks ago, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman chose to not charge the officers involved in Heisler’s killing. Protester are gathering in downtown Minneapolis outside of the Hennepin County Government Center as the community demands Kobe’s case be reopened, all evidence released to the family, and that the family is able to read an impact statement at trial.More:
