Empty homes owned by the Philadelphia Housing Authority have been opened up by housing advocates and are now being used to shelter previously homeless families during the COVID-19 pandemic. Unicorn Riot visited an occupied PHA-owned home in North Philly and heard from a mother living there with her kids. We also spoke with one of the advocates involved in identifying empty, viable PHA-owned properties and helping needy families move in.
