Crowd Protests Breonna Taylor Announcement
St. Paul, MN – A large protest shut down I-94 in Minnesota’s capital city as people responded to the news that Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove will not be charged for the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor in her Kentucky home in a botched late-night raid on March 13, 2020.
Hundreds are gathering tonight at Minnesota’s capitol in St. Paul after the #BreonnaTaylor ruling was announced in Kentucky.
(One officer was charged in relation to the incident but no cops were charged for the actual murder of Taylor.)

Hundreds gathered at the capitol, marched west on University Avenue, crossed over I-94 and east on Concordia Avenue.

The crowd swelled near the thousands and they marched onto the interstate for about 30 minutes before a large police presence showed up and they exited the freeway.

Two marshals keeping the protesters safe were arrested by State Patrol as the march moved back to the capitol building. They were brought to Ramsey County Jail, where dozens immediately gathered in solidarity.
Protests occurred outside of the fenced in jail in St. Paul for over an hour until the two arrested were released around 11 p.m.

Large crowds marched across the country, including Denver, Colorado. In Louisville, two officers were shot and wounded and dozens mass arrested during unrest.
